Nightdock
Nightdock is a Regigalian Human town found in The Blood Fields region of Regigalis. Shrouded in permanent mist, Nightdock is avoided by many. It has a dark reputation, partly because of its proximity to Kuo-Toa ruins and strange “fish cults” whispered to still exist.
The town is famous for its lanterns that burn greenish-blue, that seem to emanate prayers are muttered in dead languages, while the tides whisper secrets best left forgotten. Further adding to its mystique, some residents claim the moon never truly rises here.
Demographics
Every resident of Nightdock records their dreams in “Waterskin Scrolls”; thin sheets made of magically treated fishskin inked with symbols, images, and cryptic notes. Dreams are considered omens or warnings, and there are entire houses where Dreambinders decipher shared patterns among citizens. When multiple people dream of similar figures or phrases, rituals are held to ward off “The Tidelost”, beings said to crawl from the deep subconscious. The town functions on a delicate, dream-warped logic; residents may suddenly change behavior after dreams, avoid specific areas without explanation, or “listen to the fog” before making decisions.
Architecture
Barnacle-encrusted buildings, crooked walkways, and towers that reach down rather than up. The town is eerily beautiful, and often appears like it exists underwater, even when dry.
