The Enclave

The Enclave is the foremost authority on magic in Aonus which also makes it one of the most exclusive. Entry into the Enclave is by invitation only and those who are are done under strict direction to tell no one where they are going. Inductees are typically chosen from the colleges and academies across the world and include only the best and the brightest. On the rare occasion, however, some children who show prodigal aptitude for the arcane arts are also taken. To achieve a permanent position within the Enclave one must undergo The Trial, which is a secret series of tests with failure usually resulting in death. It is for this reason that those chosen for this path are done under the careful watch of the Grand Magus. The organization is headed by a triumvirate of three incredibly powerful mages.

Structure

The Triumvirate

Grand Magus
The overall head of the Enclave and in charge of seeking and inducting new members into the organization. They are also the political liaison to all other kingdoms and people in the land. Headmaster
In charge of the school body of the Enclave and is tasked with leading the students in the various studies of the arcane. No school of magic is restricted, but those requiring experimentation are done under the careful watch of the Headmaster. Archmage
The top mage within the Enclave and is in charge of research and development. Is responsible for the ethical application of magic and for filing reports that reach the Grand Magus about the progress of these technologies and spells.

Public Agenda

To allow the study of magic in an ethical manner and seek the advancement of the arcane to be to the benefit of all citizens of Aonus.

Unknown, but seemingly limitless.

History

Established in 490 B.C., it was created as a way of pooling together the massive amounts of resources and information that started coming to fruition during the Age of Creation. In the golden years the Enclave was far busier and bolstered memberships in the hundreds. It isn't known what happened but a century before the Heartseeker's War the Enclave lost most of it's members and became far more secretive. It no longer allowed non members to enter its walls and missives were often left unanswered. To this day, the Enclave remains an enigma.
