Bone Disc

The Bone Disc (or BD) is the citizenship tile, carved out of bone into the form of a disc. Every Syreni possessing it wears it at all times, tide with a cord either around the neck, waist or wrist. It has ones date of birth, parents/clan, species and profession. Everybody gets one at birth and it is never renewed only taken away when a Syreni choses to go black or is forced to. The confiscated Bone Disc are taken by the state and kept in case of them being reawarded to a 'reformed' Syreni.


Black Syreni don't copy a Bone Disc to get by because the forgery of citizenship is the only crime which penalty is death.

Clauses

The information on the disc is very brief, only containing your name, your birth date and place, your species, the name of your clan and family, and your profession or the profession group on it.

Caveats

Losing the Bone Disc is mighty expansive but not too much of a problem because they can look if your Bone Disc is together with the other confiscated ones and if it didn't and there are people vouching for you will be able to get another one.
Not having one prevents you from owning or renting a house or vehicle or getting a job and making money legally.

Publication Status

There are no copies of the Bone Disc.

Legal status

With the Bone Disc you could theoretically travel across all of the City of Aogua if some of its districts weren't at war with each other.

Background

This bone disc makes sure that everyone knows that the highest right is to be part of the city and for that you have to fit in and make sacrifices.
