Warforged

Warforged are a new development on the plane of Anthranon. Only since the discovery of plasm have they come to exist. The secrets of their creation are kept by a few gnomes and the Bronzebart dwarf clan on the island of Glimburk. It was the gnomes who discovered the ability for plasm to act as a power source for constructs. But it was the dwarves who gave them souls. The dwarves believe that Gott is like a craftsman, and each soul is created within his soul forge. In a special ritual they believe that they replicate the process. Putting the soul into specially prepared bodies as much biological as machine. Plasm is further refined into their blood with muscles of the flexible sabalwood and a stone and metal exoskeleton, eyes of crystal glow softly imbedded in the skull. Each warforged takes multiple craftsmen many months to complete. It was found that a factory replicable model could not hold a soul and thus every warforged is slightly different. Most are slightly larger than human sized, double the size of their creators. Like many dwarven creations they were created to fight dragons.
Most warforged are raised their first year in the temple of the Bronzebart Clan learning to walk, talk, and control their bodies, like an accelerated childhood. Then they are sent to Eis'weg, a variant of the normal dwarven training center specifically catered to warforged. Eisen being the dwarven word for iron the word means Ironpath and is a variation on Kri'weg which means Warpath and is the training center dwarven boys are sent to become Krieger. After their warrior training is complete they emerge as full citizens of the Bronzebart clan. One of the ways that Eis'weg differs from Kri'weg is the inclusion of tools in their training. It was discovered that while they make ideal Krieger many warforged become depressed if not kept busy with some task. Thus they are encouraged to learn a trade as a supplemental activity. They also don't marry and thus have no wives to do work for them as is normal or Kriegers in dwarven society, their trades give them supplemental income normally provided by the labor of women.
There are currently less than 300 warforged in the world and their existence is not widely known yet. Just merchants telling tales of metal men on Grimburk Island. Those that leave the island are anomalies everywhere they go.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Warforged follow many of the dwarven naming traditions. A first name that is chosen by them at some point before their graduation from Eis'weg, until they choose one they are referred to by their number. The only rule for choosing a first name is that it must be unique, no two warforged share a first name. Many name themselves after feats accomplished, a tool they like, or a favorite character from literature. Examples include; Anchor, Basher, Spearpoint, Jumper, Hammer, Tongs, or Neverfall. Because they have no fathers that part of a dwarven name is left out. Their family name is Ironheart. They view each other as brothers, all from the same family. The only clan that makes them is the Bronzebart clan.

Gender Ideals

All warforged are Male. Nobody has attempted to make a female warforged.

Relationship Ideals

Warforged don't reproduce, marry, have sex organs, or get horny. Sometimes they choose to cohabitate with other warforged that they are especially close with. These groups range from 2 to 20 warforged, usually from the same military unit.

Warforged Spellcasters

The Bronzebart Clan has had legal arcane magic for over a thousand years. All warforged have the potential to be clockwork soul sorcerers, many also become war wizards. Those who show exceptional promise are given training at the Bronzebart Mag'weg.
