Sumarrian
Sumarrian designates anyone within the Sumarrian Empire, mostly humans and minotaurs. They have a militaristic culture of hierarchy and honorable service.
The Sumarrian Trifecta.
The Sumarrians elevate three gods above all others. Zolmov, Hazoroh, and Hetzia. These gods represent what they find most important in their culture. Zolmov represents the Sun that Sumarr followed west, as well as the dragons that have become so integral in their lives. Hazoroh represents their devotion to honor and duty, The Code of Hazoroh can be found in the room of every officer. Hetzia represents their ferocity in battle and their reliance and use of the ocean. Followers of Hetzia ensure that the wind and rain are always on their side. Together the twin minotaur gods represent their dedication to War.Naming Traditions

Culture
Culture and cultural heritage
The Summarians have never liked winter. For followers of Zolmov it meant seeing their god less and for followers it means that the harbors can freeze over preventing them from going out on their boats or waging war.
Shared customary codes and values
Every true born citizen in the empire is taught Hazoroh's Code at the Imperial Academy. Most sumarrians live by it.
Common Etiquette rules
It is customary in sumarrian culture to bow to one's superiors whether they outrank you in the military, are your teacher, or just your boss. The steepness of the bow is reflective of the amount of respect given. The superior is not required to bow back but might do so anyway, usually a lesser bow. Two equals might exchange short identical bows upon seeing each other for the first time that day.
Art & Architecture
Summarian architecture is largely based of off Japanese architecture but some influence from the colonies has started to make its way into architecture. For instance in colonies with rock gnome influence there are brick or stone houses built in the impossible looking fashion of gnomish buildings with the distinct summarian rooftops.
Funerary and Memorial customs
All of their dead are burned. If the deceased was a follower of Hetziah they are given a Viking funeral, if they are a follower of Hazoroh they are burned with their weapon of choice which becomes a family heirloom when it is retrieved from the ashes.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Both women and men are considered good looking when they are well muscled and lean all around. Except for a woman's breasts and hips which are preferred to be larger but not unwieldy. Sumarrians are unique in that they are a blended ethnicity. Most minotaurs and a large group of humans consider themselves Sumarrian. This has led to interbreeding between minotaurs and humans. Those outside of the empire find this strange, but it is possible and fairly common for human sumarrians to be attracted to minotaurs and vice versa.
Gender Ideals
The Sumarrian Empire is one of the few places with gender equality. Women can be governors, dragonriders, hold military positions, and fill any other job. There is no gender pay gap among equally qualified candidates. It is expected that in their 20's women take what is called a mother's leave to have children, usually 2 or 3.
