Half of a nation divided by religious fractures. West Shallaugh retains its status as a divine state, aligned with but separate to, the Divine Kingdom of
Terramere
A huge civil war once wracked Shallaugh over whether it should become a subservient state of Terramare. The war came to an impasse and so the nation was divided between the religious separatists of the west and the loyalists in the east, now known as
East Shallaugh .
Shattered by the civil war, West Shallaugh exists only because of the support of
Terramere . Life has been reduced to the barest of survival and diplomatic relationships with other nations are cold at best, with the exception of limited trade from
Troxtan. The people live in a perpetual dark age, ruled by a fanatical ecclesiarch dedicated to Tiamat .
