Edoa

Fortune Favors The Bold

Geography

Though a small nation, the geography of Edoa reflects numerous different biomes and cultures that inhabit them.
In the West are grasslands, great regions of rolling plans moving towards forests in the North and a savanna in the South.
In the East, the jungles of Quetzalcoatl spill over the borders, the foliage mingling and intertwining with forests that extend north to the great lake.

Natural Resources

Edoa's most prominent natural resources are the vast forests that provide lumber, and the coal and iron mines that keep their factories fed and their Aether tech always at the bleeding edge.

History

A small nation surrounded by potential agressors, Edoa has come to rely on the intelligence and ingenuity of it's people to survive.   Often considered to be driving the bleeding edge of Aether based technology, Edoa is a country of inventors, risk takers, and change-makers best known for the great artisans and incredible creations that they produce.   Edoa first appeared in the history books, and was recognized in some of the more well established courts, around 500 years ago; a relatively young nation by Ankhur's standards.   Initially uniting under a single family, Edoa's early political history was rife with corruption and nepotism. After barely a century the country fell to civil war, driven by the excess with which it's ruling class indulged in when contrasted with the suffering of it's workers. Out of the civil war was forged a republic, and a meritocracy.   The ruling council came to be known as The Assembly of Edoa and with their value and power base set by that which they could offer the nation, the ruling families each pushed themselves to ever greater feats of invention and creation over the following centuries. This resulted in the Edoa that exists today; a country of invention, intelligence, and ingenuity.
