Caminoa

Caminoa is a predominantly halfling nation located in the southwest corner of the continent of Agelua . Known for the quality of armaments produced in their various forges, the Caminoans have prospered greatly through the arms trade, though this has left them open to less than friendly relations with other countries in the frontier.   Once established as a refugee nation for halflings being persecuted in the nations of Orelet and Praya, the settlements eventually federated and used their rich mineral resources to start up forges dedicated to weaponry. Through the cooperation of countries such as Dorayon (which provides non-metallic resources), Caminoa quickly established itself as a economic power in Agelua.

Demography and Population

Caminoans are predominantly halflings, although small pockets of various other races commonly found in Kirimand can be seen. Most representatives of government are usually halflings, although the odd non-halfling shows up every now and again.

Currency
Caminoans, like all other countries in the frontier, use the gold slip as their primary form of currency, although within Caminoa itself paper currency is more prevalent. In the more affluent sections of Hahtan, various banking guilds have standardised small crystals containing virtual writs of note. These writs are used effectively as promisory notes for significantly large amounts of gold slips, where physical transport of such slips would present itself as a risk.
Legislative Body
The nation of Caminoa is a representative democracy, and each of its fifteen territories elect a set of representative (proportional to its population) in the nation's parliament, hosted in the city of Hahtan, which is designated itself as a territory.   Lawmaking is voted on by the house of representatives, which is then passed to the president for final approval; the president has the ability to exercise veto, although such an action requires significant justification in order to be publicly accepted.   Presidents serve a single 4-year term; once elected, one cannot be elected President a second time.
Judicial Body
Caminoa is presided over by the System of Courts and Judges. Judges are sent out to the various territories to adjudicate on cases both civil and criminal, while matters of contention and federal law are presided over by the High Judges. The High Judges are lawmakers usually serving lifetime positions, and upon death a High Judge is usually elected from either the existing itinerant judges or a representative from the legislative branch.
