Zvorun, The Earth Mother

Primordial goddess of earth and nature. Master of earth spirits, guardian of nature, and queen of beasts. Is said to guide and protect shepherds, hunters and pregnant women. Peasants say that offerings of buried animal entrails, and milk or blood kneaded into soil will bring her favor. Farmers who follow the old ways present her with great offerings for permission to till her flesh for their fields. She was Queen Mother of the ancient primordial earth, and all who follow the old ways call her first amongst the old gods and always pay homage offerings to her.
As the mother of Ichor, she is considered the grandmother of all the mortal races and in ancient times was revered by all. As the old faith has fallen out of favor, only the Orcs, who's ancestor god was chosen as her champion, still revere her highly. Those orc tribes who live closest to their ancestral hunting grounds are said to continue to uphold the most ancient traditions of her worship. As a divided people with a preference for oral tradition, human scholars are doubtful of the validity that this is a continued practice that carries on from antiquity, but orcs say that the race of men have long abandoned the great mother and are deluded from a true understanding of the gods.
