Sessions 6 - Arya - "Family is Complicated"
General Summary
The party was a pretty normal party, except for the kidnapping. So Immianthe Folduin Faepetor's daughter, she was almost kidnapped. We actually saved her which was really good because we also met Gor'Gorath who is some kind of demon and we also took hostage Uhmed Bhannem. He was used by Gor’gorath to help kidnap victims and to stay with them, before they were probably killed by Gor’gorath however we have no clue because when we tried to get some information out of him, he would almost start choking himself like he was forbidden to say anything about it. Folduin Faepetor had come in and taken Uhmed to the jails, I do hope he took my warning about Uhmed. Another thing that happened at the party was that since Immianthe was basically traumatized from the whole ordeal, she released a powerful surge of magic killing Avull while she was trying to calm Immianthe. I feel bad for Fi, she seemed really shocked about the whole thing. I guess if I was her age and just saw my friend get killed like that I would be shocked just like her, I just hope she isn't traumatized from it.
However since we saved Immianthe, Folduin actually gave us a home in Radivant. Which is amazing, we didn't have to waste money on a room at the bar. However Belian was a very nice man, I just didn't like wasting money like that. Since we didn't have anything to do I finally told the group about Poliel's Temple and they were perfectly fine with going with no information about it. This group is very trusting, it may be our downfall, I should look into that. Anyway after about 2 days of travel we finally arrived at the temple. We did have to take care of some wolves and a yeti, but that was easy. When we went into the temple some of us, including myself, were hit by some darts, so we should work on being stealthy and looking for traps. At the other side of the temple though there was a statue and I followed the steps of the statue it let us through, into the main temple. Sadly I had to stick Dutch with his own sword, luckily it didn't seem to hurt him too much.
Entering the main part, Dutch decided to throw his pot into the room awaking some skeletons, which again was easy to take care of with Dutch protecting all of us. Going through the temple I kept feeling the lingering sense of disease in this place, however for this place was for the worship of the goddess of pestilence so I guess that's to be expected. We went to the left part of the temple first and found a lot of books and scrolls from Kallor Eiderann Tes'thesula. Genevieve knows of him but not that much I take it. However, after taking care of a weird creature in a room north of the chamber we were in, we took a little bit of a rest. In that rest Riley, Genevieve and I all read some of the pages and a journal we found. I don't get it, he wrote the same thing that I was told in my vision, “As Poliel has turned her back to me, so shall I turn the world's back to her and all her kind”. Kallor’s wife also passed away and in the vision I was told “my truest folly began the day she died.” Could that be, I don't know.
Anyway we continued through the temple and I felt a lot of lingering disease in another door, we found some chests and some animated armor, they suck by the way. So after dealing with the armor, or while battling them the statue of Poliel came to life, touched Dutch and asked him to be her Mortal Sword. I have no clue what that means but he is connected to her somehow. After we finished with that room we continued on to the right side of the temple and found like a tomb in the temple. However what caught me off guard was that there was a portrait of Aranatha which looked just like me. This couldn't be, she looked like a high elf, however I’m just a half elf. But before I could get a better look at it Riley triggered another animated armor, which I was getting tired of, I kinda turned into my dire wolf form and broke one of the display cases. We easily took care of it and while I opened the other display case, Genevieve took all the jewelry from the one I broke.
I turned back to the portrait and I felt connected to her, so much that I actually started to tear up. Everyone else started to leave the room, Dutch actually came over to me to get me out of the room. I just hung my head so no one would see the tears and walked out of the room. We went to the other hall where we found a mimic, I was just tired of the temple, I found my answers and I just wanted to leave. However we found some other creature that we had to deal with, since I was so distracted one of them managed to knock me unconscious. Fi woke me and I just couldn't take it, I felt really bad hurting my friends but I just lost it. I exploded with a wave of thunder killing one creature and injuring the other one. We finally finished them off and checked the rest of the temple and there was nothing there. So I was just done with this place we left.
On the trip back I asked Genevieve for the jewelry and the journal. While looking at the jewelry I noticed that it was the same as the ring my father gave me. But that's impossible. My father was human, not an elf. So they couldn't be related to me through my father but my mother. Wait, Kallor said he had two children, a boy and a girl. That means one of them has to be part of my family. So could that mean that Kallor and Aranatha are my great grandparents. WAIT! That's why my blood reacted to the tower like that. It's because I have Kallor’s blood in me. I need to talk to Genevieve about this, however am I able to trust her with this information. I also might need to go home and talk to my mother about this. However am I ready to tell the group about my past and have them meet my family.
