Manufacturing process
After the cake is cooked and still warm it is sliced into several horizontal layers, before being reassembled with honey drizzled between each layer and a generous scoop on top.
History
The dish was invented by early bee keepers when trying to create new dishes to use their honey in. It quickly became popular among both the nobility and lower classes. As time has passed different variants have been developed depending on region, available ingredients, family, and one's social class.
It is frequently available during festivals, celebrations, and even day to day life.

Honey cake is one of the most common sweet treats available to all except the poorest of the poor. Therefore it is favorite treat among the lower classes, who might not have access to such sugary delights.

Honey cake is made from cake that has been soaked with honey in it's most basic form. Some variants include fruits, powdered sugar or decorations such as wax figures or flowers.
The cake itself can be very messy to eat, so it's recommended to eat it with a plate and spoon, otherwise one will just get covered in sticky honey.
