Hidden in the deepest depths of the planet where even the subterranean races dare not go, exists a massive cavern. Levitating within this cavern is a large crystalline core that pulses with raw magical energy. This is the source of all magic in Andraous. Few know of this place, and fewer yet have seen it, due to the the dangerous terrain and creatures that inhabit the maze like cave system around it. Many expeditions have been sent into the depths of the planet, seeking riches, and glory. However most never return, and are assumed to have been lost due to attacks from subterranean folk, monstrous beasts, unstable caves, and just getting turned around, doomed to wander until they either starve or are picked off, one by one.
Those that have been lucky enough to survive long enough to find their way to and back from the cavern speak of sensing a powerful presence within the crystal. Some scholars theorize that the crystal core may host an ancient primordial god, but whether of not this is true has yet to tested.
