'Castle of Vampires'
What once stood as the heart of a grand kingdom is now the only sanctuary for the young folk known as Vampires. Many local non-vampires have known that Vampires have taken refuge there, but after centuries of the Kingdom's decline and eventual collapse have left the people desperate for any kind structure and relatively safety, even if that comes from creatures that drink their blood.
The vampires are protective of their new home, and are quick to deal with any threats of bandits or dangerous creatures, leaving the lands overall much safer for the original inhabitants.
Purpose / Function
The castle was originally built to house a royal family be the heart of the kingdom. When the kingdom fell the castle became the hideout for countless bandit gangs and war lords. In current times the castle has become the home of the majority of the vampire population. Representatives from every Vampire family lives here, and together they work on increasing Vampire influence across the continent.
Alterations
When the bandits and such were in control of the tower they increased defenses around the castle walls, adding spiked barricades along the outside and building wooden watch towers. Within the tower they converted many of the rooms into storage rooms, bed rooms, and jail cells.
The Vampires also made changes when they took control of the castle. Each of the families were given their own section of castle where they could store their goods and rest.
History
Originally home to a monarchy and many of the nobility of the kingdom, many were slaughtered or fled after a war centuries in the making. The caste was occupied for awhile but was eventually abandoned. For years various bandit groups and warlords, much to the despair of the surviving inhabitants. Then in the dark of one night there was a scuffle in the castle. By the time the sun rose the next morning the bandits were gone, and there was new inhabitants of the castle.
