Devils

The seven princes are individual rulers of the Rings of Bataar, and are governed by the devil princess Hel. They rebelled against the other planes in a time well before mortals recorded history. Now they rule over their hellish kingdoms, enforcing submition and order. At the center of their domains sits the plane called the Abyss, where chaotic demons and powerful unruly spirits are jailed, closed off from all other planes of existence. Some times, though, these barriers falter for but a second, and a horde of demons break through. It is the job of these demon princes to send their armies to send these spirits back into their eternal prison.

Prince Abbadon

The ruler of the first circle of Bataar, Balaam. Also called the Great Arbiter, Abbadon judges those that enter his domain, whether they exiled from other domains or a dark hearted mortal. Abbadon is said to have a golden tongue, and loves making deals and contracts.

Prince Hephaestus

Ruler of the second circle of Bataar, Merihem. Called the Forgemaster, this prince is known as a master metal worker and war strategist. He is obsessed with fortifications and industry. He is known for working mortal prisoners to death, only to have them raised back in an eternal torment of working bellows and swinging hammers.

Tiamat of the First Brood

Ruler of the third circle of Bataar, Chemosh. Tiamat is often considered the mother of the chromatic dragons, and is a part of a group of dragons hatched from the very first eggs. Long since this first brood was taken away from Andorra, proving too powerful for the mortal realm. This dragon queen rules over the flying devils and dragon armies of her realm but does so reluctantly. It is rumored she spends most of her free time brooding, scheming of a way to return the chromatic dragons (whom she considers her worshipers and her children) to an eternal glory.

Prince Asmodeus

Ruler of the fourth circle of Bataar, Malsheem. Known as a great schemer and lover of conflict. The True form of Asmodeus is so massive that he exists in a multitude of different forms so he can converse with his peers. Arguably the most powerful of the devil princes outside of Hel herself. Prince Asmodeus considers pretty much every thinking creature in all the planes beneath him, and constantly covets the power of others. It is the power of Queen Hel, and the eternal war with the demons of the Abyss, that narrowly keep this devil prince in line. Still, he can often be seen stocking the flames of rebellion among his devil brethren, sometimes even just for fun. He looks at existence as one large board game and revels in moving and setting up his pieces.

Prince Moloch

Ruler of the fifth ring of Bataar, Hades. While most devils are known for their scheming, Moloch stands apart for his bestial fury. Instead of carefully stoking animosities or moving mortal hearts like chess pieces, this prince of Hel prefers to rip his enemies in half himself, to feed on his opponents hate and anguish. Moloch loves inflicting pain, the perfection of battle arts, and improvement through battle. Moloch leads all of Hel's armies.

Prince Mammon

Ruler of the sixth ring of Bataar, Minaurus. It is well known that this prince cares for nothing outside of his own wealth and stature. He loves peering into the social events of the mortal realms, and even hosts lavish and gluttonous versions of such social affairs himself. It takes hordes of mortal souls and lesser devils alike to keep his ever growing palace afloat the putrid swamp it sits on. He appears in his natural form as a ram horned humanoid with a great round belly. His fingers are filled with gold rings, and he wears a massive gold collar.

Prince Baelzebul

Ruler of the Seventh ring of Bataar, Tartarus. The last of the devil princes, Bael used to be the most beautiful archangel of all Celestia. His name was once Azazel, and he loved his appearance above all things. His hair was long and golden, running down to the middle of his back. His shoulders were wide on top of a thin athletic stomach. His robes were always the purest of white cloth adorned with golden jewelry. For a time Azazel awnsered only to Asherah, as the messenger of the heavens.   When he was found to have been plotting with Hel and her rebellious angels, Asherah cursed Azazels vain form. Now his eyes are liken to that of a fly, with once angelic wings are like those of an insect. Stench flows from his now giant maw, and everything his touches leaves behind viscous fluid. He is likely the most loyal of all the devil princes, as the only thing he hates more than Asherah now is his putrid form.
