The Dwarven Revolt

Many a dwarf hero rose during the revolts, and many a hero died during it; however, the dwarves have not forgotten their sacrifice as they names are still remembered through story and song.

The Conflict

Prelude

Shortly after the way the darkness, the drow turned on the dwarves and enslaved them. Over the years, the Drow conquered more land and sent their slave labor into their new territories; however, consolidating their new territories prove to more difficult than anticipated and the enslaved dwarves took notice.

Outcome

With the Dwarves victorious they were able to retake their home in the Lowly Mountains along with their freedom. The Drow were forced to hide underground, sealing off all routes to their in fear of retaliation.

Aftermath

The victory of this war lead to the leadership of Urram being transferred to the dwarves. Urram relinquished its territories back to its owners and shifted from away from its empirical stance. With the new leadership of the dwarves, they switched to more of an isolationist stance, only addressing the outside world to trade. Although, due to the Dragon Knights' assistance during the war, the knights do have jurisdiction in the nation.

Historical Significance

The expansion of the Drow empire brought with it new lands, but also new fronts to battle on. They low on soldiers to guard their slaves and the dwarves began to take notice of this. The first revolt came from a lumber mill in drow-occupied Thylodis. In broad daylight the dwarves turned on their oppressors, cutting them down with the same axes they used to cut wood. The drow responded by sending a battalion after the group, but they managed to evade capture.
Shortly after, word of revolt's success began to spread and dwarves began to take up arms. This angered the drow who punished them severely. However, regardless of the amount of threats, torture, and executions, the dwarves refused to yield. More revolts happened with a few succeeding at a time. Most revolt groups that were successful often became individual rebel cells with little to no communication. However, with the The Royalist Revolution coming to a close, and the Dragon Knights pledging themselves to aid the dwarves, these cells quickly became unified and became soldiers, spies, and saboteurs. The combined forces of the dwarves and allied nations brought an end to the revolt and the The Great Drow War.
