Shammar River

Geography

The Shammar River is the main river of the Land of the Two Rivers, running down the eastern side of the land. Unlike the Javan River, the Shammar is slow flowing and meanders lazily through fertile plains as it heads south from the The Grand March to the Azure Sea . For this reason it is navigable for much of its length, and is the main artery of The High Kingdom. The two main cities of the High Kingdom - Nejard and Gerrale are on the Shammar River as well - Gerrale is at the mouth of the river, whereas Nejard is three-quarters of the way up the river, yet river traffic can easily travel between the two. The Shammar makes the land on either side of the river the most fertile and densely populated area of the High kingdom.
