Raska

Once a kingdom spanning much of the inhabitable region of Western Tremaria, Raska has lost much of it's former glory and is now reduced to a few bright cities along the coast and a number of small towns gradually creeping outwards, reclaiming the wild lands to the east.   In 1309 the Lord Protector of Raska attempted to seize control of the kingdom. The civil war and the 7 years of famine that followed plunged Raska into a dark age that continues to this day. People flocked from the towns and cities inland to the coast where food could still be obtained through the trade routes, and the wilds followed behind, claiming the land that was abandoned and pushing those left without means to hold against it westward as well.

Territories

Raska holds a large section of coastal Tremaria and a scattering of larger islands to the west. Of old it stretched inland to the Spine of Tamera but now most of the land between the coast and the mountains is uninhabited wildlands.

Agriculture & Industry

Forests have taken over the eastern part of Raska, providing a good source of wood for those who can secure an area against the beasts that roam there. Towards the coast rolling hills provide good farmland and fishing off the coast has always been a staple of Raska's exports. Previously orchards in the northern regions provided fruit as well but the Fruit Blight of the last two years has massively hamstrung the industry.

Trade & Transport

As most of the inhabited areas of Raska are coastal trade is primarily through naval trade-routes up and down the coast. A major caravan route runs eastward from Mehrun in the south to where the Eastmarch Ranges split from the Spine of Tamera for trade with the Dwarven cities in the Rhun Alliance.
