Created by a king that violated the agreement of his forebearers.
Forebearers agreed not to chop trees from this forest, as it was a grove that often hosted hibernating and dead Dryads, due to nearby leaky feywild veil.
As city grew and aged, the successive kings eventually forgot the agreement and forgot why it was made, and after about three hundred years, some young king decided to break the rules and start cutting the trees.
Lady Shee heard about this and came to demand he stop, and she'd forgive him this time without reparations if he apologized and buried the wood back in the forest and left it all alone.
Instead, he built this.
The very door handles are made of cold iron, so faeries can't use them. The wood is Nymphwood stolen from the forest. The stone and mortar are dusted by cold iron, so being in there is unpleasant for faeries.
The subsequent upset awoke the Dragon of Good Luck Aspect, who had to mediate between the king and Lady Shee.
Lady Shee wanted the infant princess, but the king offered himself and the queen instead, and Lady Shee agreed. The dragon took the infant princess and raised her in the Fuck You tower to keep her safe from her uncle. The tower remained unoccupied for the many centuries it stood. No permanent dwellers ever stayed, and most adventurers were disappointed. Anyone that ever tried for very long would end up wandering lost in The Haunted Forest and eventually falling into the The Feywild.
It fell in 4351 when Ro, the Mistress of the Hunt smashed it to escape after she'd been locked in the tower for six days. The tower crumbled into itself and while the dungeon remains, one has to know it's there to find it. The hole leading into the stairs is hidden, and the basement begins deep enough that the trees grow just fine (though the ones surrounding the collapsed tower are much younger than the others.
