Annum, The All Father

Domains: Forge , Knowledge, Arcana
Titles: The Skyvault King, Father of Titans, Keeper of the Long March, The Wandering Architect
Symbol: A hammer striking an anvil, with a single eye above emitting rays
Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Annum the All-Father was among the first of the prime deities, born of the starry firmament in the time before time. Where Varaal rose from the elemental crucible and Caudiel kindled the First Dawn, Annum emerged as the vaulting spine of the world, the one who measured the cosmos and shaped its bounds. It was he who taught structure to chaos, building mountains, constellations, and the long bones of the world.

From his breath came the first giants, each crafted with precision—form forged from will, stature from strength. They were meant to be stewards of the world’s form, builders and watchers, echoing their father’s vast vision.

The War of Flame and Fang

In the Age of Splendor, before mortals yet dreamed, Annum stood alongside Varaal and Liupan to challenge Tiamat, the Queen of Howling Flame, whose spawn sought to unmake all order. In a cataclysmic battle beneath the black sun, Annum lost his right eye, torn from him by Tiamat’s obsidian fang as he cast her down into the deeps of the world.

His eye—a divine gem of foresight and measure—was swallowed by Tiamat as she fell. It is said that so long as it lies within her, Annum cannot clearly see fate, nor find what was once lost.

The Lost Son

After the battle, Annum withdrew from the councils of the gods, filled with a silence deeper than the void between stars. He began to speak of a long-lost son, one he had not made, but who bore his blood—a child born of prophecy, one whose hand could either restore the world’s perfect balance or shatter it forever.

Some gods believe this son is real, perhaps conceived during the War of Undying Winter, or forged from the All-Father’s fallen eye. Others whisper it is a phantom, a grief-made mirage, born from Annum’s pride and wounded vision.

Regardless, Annum left the world, stepping beyond even the divine realms, wandering the long distant lands of Wyvrien in search of his son. He has not returned.

Worship and Legacy

Among giants and titanic races, Annum does not require worship as his god kin do. His worship emphasizes craftsmanship, lineage, oaths kept unto death, and the idea that one must earn the legacy of their size. His teachings are carved into mountain passes and giantbone cairns in ancient runes known as the Ordning Script.

Some claim to dream of the Skyfather still—a tall shadow beneath the constellations, eye glowing with sorrow and determination, still searching.

Prophecy of the Hollow Crown

The last vision Annum left carved in runestone before vanishing reads:

“A crown cast in sorrow,
A son forged in silence,
Shall rise when the flame and scale make war once more.
Let him choose—
To raise the throne, or sunder it.”

Some scholars believe this prophecy refers to a future where the rivalry between dragons and giants reignites, and Annum’s lost son—whatever his true form—must decide the fate of both.
