Taladin

The Children of Tala, also known as the Taladin, are one of the oldest, high order species known to Uinsil. Created by Tala during an encounter with Shodar, Tala took aspects of Shodar and herself to form the Taladin. While Shodar is considered to be Ashun (rising from the ash), the lineage of the Taladin are self propagating. While the Taladin remain one of the most abundant high order species, the devastation caused by the hordes of Osgolip reduced the number of Taladin greatly. Shortly thereafter, many of the Taladin sought gifts from the other Heirs. These gifts changed their physiological structure. Thus, the study of peoples discriminates the Taladin from those that were changed.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Taladin are physiological similar, but vary in specific aspects as a result of elemental variations. The typical Taladin is approximately five and a half feet tall on the average with a weight of 150 pounds at maturity. Taladin generally support the common, blended elemental compositions with rarities known to occur.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Taladin require consumption of soft grade food. This includes products predominantly composed of fire, water, and air. Geometric foods have been known to break down and release small amounts of sustainment, though not in any meaningful value. In desperation, Taladin may support themselves through consumption of soft geometric structures for a short duration.

Biological Cycle

Taladin are brought to viability within the carriers of the species. In most cases, this is the female, though in rare occurrence, a male has been the carrier. The child remains within the carrier until the essence has completed forming the parallel, after which birth occurs. The child continues to consume and grow, reaching the final stature of the sovereign after approximately 54 seasons, with variance around 4 seasons. From this point, the Taladin exhibit variable growth according to experiences that influence the sovereign, such as musculature formation, throughout remaining life of the Taladin. Eventually, deterioration of the body occurs which results in embrittlement of the structure, reduction of mental capacity, and discoloration. When the Taladin can no longer support the body structure, the body passes in rapid decomposition.
