Introduction to Amerielle's Gods

Creation Mythos

Saagael and R'yleh, the Eternals of Death and Chaos established the material plane as a way to expand their realms and to create ways to sow more death and chaos. This newfounded plane empowered them in their eternal struggle with other gods. During this brief alliance, they created creatures of innocence and of evil using the evil creatures to inflict atrocities and savagery on the weak innocent. They drew power from the prayers of the wicked and the pain of the innocent.   Their rule of this new hell began to fade when a Life god, Novos, saw the evil and death and intervened. While Saagael and R'yleh were occupied gorging themselves on the death and chaos, Novos slipped into the material plane and called three races to himself, the humans, elves, and dwarves. He used them to establish good and righteousness on the material plane.   At first, the two wicked creator gods were excited to corrupt and destroy these good creatures, but Novos had played them. He began to create a pantheon of new gods to rule over the material plane. He used the prayers of the creatures to build this new retinue of gods. These new gods began to rule with goodness and justice. Saagael and R'yleh reacted by creating their own opposing gods, gods of evil and ancient ones of chaos. A war began between the new gods as Saagael pitted Tiamat, his chromatic dragon goddess, against Bahamut the good metallic dragon. The war raged for centuries and many gods rose and fell during that time.   Novos realized that his war would ultimately lead to the death and destruction of the entire material plane. He brokered a truce with Saagaela nd R'yleh and the three of them relinquished control of the material realm to their children gods.
