Manifestation

Giving food or water to the gods may give visions with the location of a well if done with the proper ceremony. usually passed down in the caravan families. these are the only non-priest visions and are often seen by the children of priests
Food or water sacrificed at festivals or ceremonies will bring a blessing to the family or town who offered it.
Mages who sacrifice water and other rituals gain power for spells.
The opposite is also true insubstantial things given up may give solid gains giving up a dream may lead to a good harvest.
Water is always more powerful given away from other water storage as it is a greater sacrifice to give water is you don't have a ready supply of it.

Localization

these sacrifices done given from the ordinary are more likely to be heard if a priest is present or at an alter. mages are more likely to be heard than ordinary prayer as well. prayer at the temple is often particularly effective because of the communitive property.
