Sundering

The desert stretched out from the stone hills. the paths were hidden and no carrivans marked a safe path across. she tightened her grip on the waterskin and knife and tucked the scarf tighter around her face. she glanced back at the villagers. her life freely given for the gods to do with as they chose. 40 days to love and she could come back. but most didn't make it two nights that's what the knife was for. until those days passed she was sundered from her tribe.

Execution

The child is sent into the desert with a waterskin and a knife if they survive 40 days they may return to the tribe or another tribe.
