Duke/Duchess

In the Cymelian Empire, a Duke (or Duchess) is responsible for

• providing justice within his lands
• protecting the population from invaders
• duties to the Lord Mayor, that include 1) collecting and paying taxes to the Emperor/Empire from their town and lands, and 2) providing housing and resources for Imperial soldiers for to support defense and war activities.
• collecting taxes from the Reeves and smaller villages also under their jurisdiction
