Joint rulership of Breizh until 586 with death of Judicael.


Judicael claimed the throne from Kernev after the death of the pretender Gurvand, while Alan followed Paskweten as ruler of Gwened, continuing the civil war. However, a powerful Formorian fleet forced the two to join forces to repel them. Judicael was killed, leaving Alan as undisputed ruler. He rallied the two armies and drove the Formorians into the Mor Bihan, where many drowned.   Fulk I of Anjou was frequently at war with Alan in an attempt to retake Western Anjou and Naoned
