His Majesty, the King Melchor William Kreisel III
The King of Umbria, he is a human man from the family of the original rulers of Umbria. He is the leader of the Umbrian Royal Council, and he tries to rule his country with a kind but just ruling. He believes in equality, but due to some events in his past he is always quite distrustful and leery of goliaths.

His left eye is an eye made out of magitech, it allows him to have a blindsense around his left side out to fifteen feet. Once a day he is able to activate it further to cast truesense in order to see invisible figures and constructs.

King Melchor was born in the Dawnblessed Castle in Dawncrest in the year on 20492. His parents, King William and Queen Cherisa, ruled Umbria for forty years until Melchor took over at the age of thirty two.
When he was eighteen, he joined the Umbrian Army, and trained and journeyed alongside his countrymen. One one of these journeys, among the Casduen Sea, an enraged leviathan attacked their fleet and they were struggling to fight for their lives. Fortunately, he had recently hired a mage in his personal guard, Lerissa Marsolis , who was able to fend off the elemental until the ships' cannons turned it away for good. They lost half of the fleet that had been sailing to Yinshan.

When Melchor was twenty-one, he led a scouting party into the Khazroldûr Mountains after a report that there were raiders attacking villages along the southern coast of Umbria. Deep in the mountains, a roaming tribe of goliaths attacked his party, slaughtering most of his men and taken the rest of them as prisoners. They spent a whole week of torturing him and killing his men painfully in front of him. They were not aware he was the crowned Prince of Umbria, but just thought he was a higher ranking official. They inflicted many wounds on him, ripping fingernails, lashes to his back, and went as far as to poke an eyeball out (he got this replaced by [gnome artificer] by magitech).
After a week, Melchor and the last survivor of his party, were saved by a party of the Crimson Lions, led by the Burning Lion himself, Gareth Remhall (at the time he did not have his title, and was granted this title after the successful mission in saving the crowned prince).
