Cylan, God of Nature
Harbringer of the Seasons
"Those who stray far from civilization will quickly come to understand the ferocity of nature. The untamed wild is every bit as dangerous as it is beautiful. If you ever hope to survive the harsh temperament of Cylan, do your utmost to respect and preserve all manners of natural life."

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Cylan is often depicted as a mature elven male who stands over 6 feet. He carries a staff made of the finest wood and his hair flows down to the ground. His hair is a gradient that flows from a crimson red to a deep green which represents the changes of seasons. He only wears natural armour made of leathers and he is the only one known to shy away from Adalax's gifts.
Cylan has a slim but agile body that is free from aging. His expressions vary greatly depending on the season and he is known to be extremely wrathful under various circumstances. Cylan is also often shown in the form of different animals when approaching civilization. His most common form is that of a beautiful snow-white wolf with glowing blue eyes.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
During the Dawn War, Naturas, the original Goddess of Nature was killed in a struggle with Xernos, God of Domination. As Naturas fell to Alvara, her remains were absorbed by the land and her body disappeared. From her blood, a sprout formed and this sprout eventually blossomed into Cylan.
Cylan is the product of a dispute that went against the natural order; a dispute over the land. Ever since birth, he believes that natural life is above all else and that improvements in technology would simply disturb the balance of all things. Greed and ambition is beyond Cylan's comprehension and he shuns all those who disturb the course of nature for their own desires. Cylan is known to have a nasty temperament and he can be just as calm as he can be punishing.
As the God of Nature, Cylan has a deep connection to the wild. He is a popular deity among druids and he cares for all sorts of animal life. Anyone who disrespects nature or impedes its growth will eventually have to answer to Cylan's wrath. He is known to be a vengeful god and he can be one of the most feared.
Relationships
Cylan has a close relationship with Frenai, Goddess of Fertility and Agriculture. Cylan's control over the seasons is intimately connected with the cycle of natural life. Their connection with each other brought forth Satchel, also known as The Feywild. The two often work in tandem to monitor the cycle of all life and they are often depicted with each other. Though they rarely speak to each other, Cylan has complications with Adalax, the God of Craft. Cylan despises metal and the workings of the forge so the two rarely ever commune. Adalax understands that Cylan's domain is far from his own so he also avoids confrontation whenever possible. There is ongoing animosity between Cylan and Neth, the God of Death and Disease. Neth is often found disturbing the natural cycle of death by interfering with the workings of mortals; he spreads his plague in a constant effort to expand his domain. Cylan, obviously, would have problems with the way Neth works and the two are always at odds.In Media
Cylan is often depicted in art alongside Frenai. The most famous piece of the two together is titled Nature's Embrace which was created by an unknown painter before the end of the Dawn Era. In the painting, Cylan is shown behind Frenai who is helping a seedling grow. The two are locked in a close embrace as the beauty of the sun shines down on the plant. The expressions on their faces show comfort, peace and genuine care. Cylan also has a play dedicated to him made by the Anthesian Order. This play titled The Cycle of Nature shows a young man journeying through the wilds over the course of four seasons. The young man will meet the wrath of Cylan at the beginning when he disrespects the natural environment, but he eventually atones for his sins and is met with warmth and love. The young man eventually comes to find the Anthesian Order which is the main cult dedicated to Cylan.
