Adalax, God of Craft

Forger of the Gods

"For it was at this time that Adalax, Forger of the Gods, created a masterwork beyond our mortal comprehension. The legendary sword that felled Xernos was gifted to Judicar who dealt the final blow, decapitating the betrayer. This brought the end of the Dawn War and freed us from the grasps of domination."
-- Bronzy Magstone, Master Craftsman (AS 215)

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

In texts and in art, Adalax is typically depicted as a stout dwarf with a muscular build. He has a charcoal beard and his hair extends down to his waist. He wears a black apron that is adorned from top to bottom with various tools that he uses for his trade. Though he is rarely found in battle, when he does fight, he wears a solid black breastplate and he keeps a large warhammer across his back.   In art, he is typically shown in the process of creation; most commonly a weapon of some sort. He is rarely seen with the other gods except to give them new equipment. Adalax is one of the oldest gods and is well respected by the rest of the Pantheon.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Adalax was one of the Old Gods born from the alliance between Kyria and Palafax during the Primordial Falling.   Upon birth, Adalax took the position as "Forger of the Gods" and he began to craft with whatever tools he had. At first, his crafts were simple adornments for all of his siblings. Soon after, he took those adornments and attached them to plate to create beautiful works of protection. Over time, Adalax outfitted all of the Old Gods with weapons and armour suited to their needs. With his talent, the Old Gods marched into battle with the Titans of the old age and dispatched them one by one.   Adalax has always been regarded well by the other gods. He never favoured anyone over the others and he would always create new masterworks for his kin. With this being said, Adalax has always kept mostly to himself throughout time. Adalax has no known children, but he is known to treat his followers like such.   Adalax found himself between two sides when the Dawn War began. To him, both sides were his allies and he refused to aid one over the other. Due to Adalax's reluctance to aid either side, Xernos was able to spill blood when he killed Balanydis, God of Protection, by piercing through his worn armour. Seeing the bloodshed, Adalax finally caved and crafted the legendary artifact, Lawbringer, for Judicar. Known as one of Adalax's masterwork creations, the Lawbringer brought the end of the Dawn War when Xernos was beheaded and banished to a separate plane of existence.   After watching the Dawn War come to an end, Adalax realized that the tools he creates could be used for both good and evil. Following these events, he further isolated himself from the rest of the Gods and only very rarely answers his followers. He watches over Alvara with a protective eye but he hopes to never intervene with the dealings of mortals.
