History
The first seeds - unification of the tribes and the old kingdom
It all started with one tribe chieftain's son. Raul the first . He has united the mountain tribes of Estekomenda mountains using a mixture of conquest, cunning and persuasion. Later on he would also begin conquering the settlements on the river to the west of the mountains. This was the basis of the ancient Brillian kingdom.Gradual conquest and expansion - from kingdom to empire
The descendants of Raul will lead vicious conquests and vastly expand their territory, eventually declaring Brillia as an empire. When the ancient kingdom of Brillia began to conquer the neighboring kingdoms they had a procedure. Kill all the men of the royal / noble family over 3 years of age, and all the women who were married or over the age of 23. The survivors would be taken to the royal court or a noble house. The girls would be married to nobles, or senior commanders in the army. In general all the young people were raised as part of the nobility they are in. Of course, dependent on the nobleman, in better or worse condition. The executions were carried out in the capital of the occupied kingdom. On one occasion, a riot ensued in one of these executions. There were also calls for a rebellion. In response, the Brillian army killed every person in the city, from noble to peasant, from young to old, men women and children, and razed the city to the ground. The Emperor at the time condemned the deed, and even offed some heads, though for him it worked well. After that event, no such event happened again. There is a Memorial Day in the Empire in memory of the people killed. It is of course more significant in the relevant area.
