Warden-Keeper Character in Alteria | World Anvil

Warden-Keeper

The Warden-Keeper is the leader of The Citadel. No one remembers a time in which the Warden-Keeper was not the leader. Though known as a fair and equitable being, they have no mercy or compunction about acting in what they perceive as the best interests of The Citadel and Alteria as a whole.   The most recent large-scale public action personally taken by the Warden-Keeper was carrying out the Spell Purge. In an ultimatum to the warring nations they gave the doppelgangers one week to end the hostilities and retreat or the war would be ended in another way. When their deadline passed with no lessening of hostilities, the Warden-Keeper cast a world-spanning spell. Immediately, every member of the doppelganger race that remained on the Material Plane was incinerated. This wholesale slaughter of an entire species was more than enough to scare the nations into making peace.   Many feel that the Warden-Keeper did what they did to protect them from the ravages of war. But others wonder whether the display of immense power was the primary motivation behind the action.
