Blue arcane crystal

"I don't think that's edible..."
"Well, have you tried? Someone surely has..."
This blue, hard substance appears in crystal-like formations in caves and underground, but it can sometimes be found near concentrated magical sources.

Properties

Material Characteristics

The surface is hard, crystalline, and smooth to touch. If one has innate magic, it can tickle under the fingertips in the magical way.

Physical & Chemical Properties

The properties of this commonly called 'blue crystal' are still a matter of great debate among the scholars. Nothing is known of its origin, other than the first sightings are recorded from After The Turbulence.
So far, it is known that the crystal reacts to every kind of magical power, but differently. It could, possibly, be used as an arcane focus or as material for spells, but its irregularity on how it reacts to everything around it is concerning and has been the greatest hindrance in the process of understanding this rather newly found substance. The inner workings of this crystal are still mostly a mystery, other than it can be powerful in right hands and dangerous in others.
It can be ground into finer powder, but even in that kind of form it is unpredictable; on other day sit doesn't react in any way to anything, but on others it might explode on one's face when even slightly stared at. Usually the crystals are rather inert, though, and safe to touch and handle. It seems there are regional differences on the crystal and on how it behaves, but the scholars do not have enough data yet. Perhaps, when the research advances, more will be known on the blue arcane crystal, which lacks even a proper name, as there are many other blue crystal-like materials in the world, too.
