Ygdrassil
Ygdrassil is the stewardess of the Emerald Woodland. Situated in a populated grove in the northern reaches of the forest, she is the being responsible for creating Terra, the Fragment of Earth.

Physical Description
Body Features
If you didn't already know that Ygdrassil was a dryad, it would be easy to mistake her for simply a giant tree. She does have a face, but it is hidden in the massive trunk of a tree far taller than any redwood.
While it is not known what kind of dryad Ygdrassil was before she transformed, now she seems to be a little bit of everything. Spreading across the sky, different clusters of her branches produce different fruits, from peaches to pears to walnuts and even pomegranates. All these different tree branches are all mixed up with each other.
The bottom of the trunk is hollow and opens up into an antechamber where travelers can come and rest. In the middle is a raised platform with root-like guardrails on the sides, and directly above it one can see the The Heartwood in all its glory.
Special abilities
Ygdrassil's residual magic sustains the entire Emerald Woodland, but her magic is the strongest around her grove. An entire thriving village of Earth elementals has sprung from her placement because of this.
Deep inside Ygdrassil, The Heartwood protects the grove from wendigoes. In the War, it allowed Ygdrassil's Grove to become a sanctuary from combat.
Even Ygdrassil's fruit carries special properties. Consuming any of the fruit that falls from her branches will cause minor wounds to heal more quickly and may even help the consumer get over Null Magic Poisoning.

Personal history
As a dryad, Ygdrassil sprouted very early in Altairian history. When she emerged in the year 930, the many races of Altairus were just fragmented little tribes. Not even the Elder Goat was born yet at this time.
Very little is known about Ygdrassil's early years. She does remember that the Emerald Woodland was not unlike how it is now, just far less populated. As the seasons and centuries went by, Ygdrassil befriended the various woodland creatures and peoples that set up their homes in the Emerald Woodland. She became well-known throughout the land for her kindness and generosity.
Eventually, as her 1000th birthday approached, Ygdrassil became rooted in the ground once more. Since that time, she has resided in an area of the Emerald Woodland known as Ygdrassil's Grove. Here she watches over the beings that live here and nourishes the land with the powerful Earth magic that emanates from her form.
Accomplishments & Achievements
During the War of the Wendigoes, Ygdrassil's Grove became a safe haven. However, that wasn't enough for her; she wanted to help stop the madness that was going on outside the borders of the grove. Calling upon her most ambitious general, Adamant Ironjaw, she forged for him an axe formed from her branches and roots, the Earth Fragment known as Terra.
