Your homeland was destroyed by war, and due to uncontrollable circumstances you had to flee to a neighboring area. Everything that made up your life before is gone, and you have little to your name to carry on to your new life. The people in your new home have feelings toward you and your fellow refugees ranging from outright hostility to sympathy.

Our Forefathers’ Home

Those people who managed to escape your homeland during this terrible time were not the only ones of your kin to live. People who left the land of their own volition in the past, or whose ancestors sought a new life outside their homeland, still hold a distant kinship to you and your fellow refugees. If you can manage to find someone of the same ethnicity, they will make every reasonable accommodation for you. Work with your DM to determine what kind of help a given person can provide.

You have little left to your name, but you are proud of your heritage and have a distinct pride in your family name. You value your friends, and hope to have a bright future in your new land (or may be seeking a new place to call home).
