Session 14 Recap
General Summary
The party arrived at the Bastion, a Fortified tower surrounded by a small utility town and walls. Here the party searched for information concerning The Shadowlands and Manticores.
J'Zargo sought out the skills of the keeps Drill Sergeant and worked to refine his fighting technique
A multitude of information was gained regarding The Shadowlands and the usual capabilities of a Manticore.
They learnt that some Hags had lived in the same woods as the Manticore, and that they had set up a number of small glowing guide posts to help navigate the woods.
After resting for the night the party headed into The Shadowlands.
On the way they stumbled across a desiccated corpse trapped in the deep marshes, animated with necrotic energies. Putting it out of its misery, and quickly looting it of any valuables, they found it had a Wand on its person.
Proceeding into the woods, they found the environment dark, dank and dense. Within hours of entering the woods they realised they where being watched and hunted from the sky.
As the Manticore landed before them, a brief dialogue ensued before the Manticore lept to action. What followed was a chase scene in which the party attempted to escape from the Manticores reach, dodging between trees as the Manticore felled them. The party weaved through roots, crawled through tunnels and wadded through shallow waters.
After a brief party split, the group reunited and found themselves at the Hags hut, its residence eagerly offering the party shelter and meal.
A nice toad soup was accompanied by shared information, They learned the Manticores name was Nyxaris, he was larger then other Manticores. The Hags offered the party a deal, a hair from their bodies in exchange for protection against the Manticores venoms.
With buffs in toe the party headed to the Manticores lair.
A harrowing battle ensued with violent strikes being laid down on both sides. Brief exposure to the Manticores venom was effectively nullified by the Hags help, and ultimately the Party was victorious against the Manticore..
