The Shadowlands

The Shadowlands are a harsh, corrupted wasteland on the North Eastern border of The Xaravelian Empire.
History tells us that it was once part of the land now known as Durden.
It is said that during the time of darkness, before Xaravelan bought peace and order the the Southern lands, dark creatures of great power, Warlords in the south, sought to gain advantage over the other Warlords. One such creature used dark magic that bough ruin to the lands of southern Durden reducing its once great city to ruins, and its people to mindless slaves. The mages of Cinia feared the Warlords action would tip the balance in the southlands, so they bought their magic to bare reducing the warlord and his minions to ash. The landscaped was forever changed by the huge influx of magic over a short period of time.
