Kynaston has dedicated his life to the worship of Mystra, the goddess of magic, and the protection of a holy site assigned to him by the church. He never leaves its protected realm, and spends his days studying ancient tomes and meditating on the mysteries of magic. The party has already met Kynaston, in the future. He had turned into a hideous one-eyed monster obsessed with understanding the calamity that slowly destroyed his world, pouring over ancient texts and studying any magical artifact or relic he can get his hands on. Though he is currently a simple old priest, his obsession eventually drives him to the brink of madness, and he begins to experiment with forbidden magic in an attempt to uncover the truth. As a result, he undergoes a horrific transformation, turning into a hideous one-eyed monster (Nothic) that will be put to mercy by the party.
