Gnoll
Gnolls are feral, hyena-headed humanoids that attack without warning, slaughtering their victims and devouring their flesh. They prefer violence and pillaging, but will not start wars if it can be helped. They were witness to the near extinction of the Orcs and learned a fear of open confrontation with any organized races. Still, encounters with Gnolls usually end in violence or shows of force to some degree, but they can be reasoned with, and interact with other races The Wild Lands. They are not particularly common across other parts of the kingdom, but are dangerous in a fight and are capable of using group tactics like wolves.
Appearance
Gnolls look like a humanoid rabid dog with a shorter snout, sharper teeth, and bristly hair on their face, arms, and back. Otherwise they have dark leathery skin. They stand around 7 feet tall and are fairly lean and muscular.Culture
Gnolls live in a heavily tribe based culture. The strongest rule, and hunting is done in packs. Their social network is barely more advanced than a pack of wolves. The value their pack and/or bloodline and do not accept outsiders.Religion
Religion important to the Gnoll packs. The Gnolls worship their demonic lord through their brutality and terrible, bloody rituals. They will often raid smaller settlements or kidnap travelers to be used in religious rituals.Fighting Gnolls
They will usually be found in groups wearing scavenged armor and weapons. They are particularly fond of ranged weapons and planned traps or ambushes. They strategize constantly and will adjust tactics to take advantage of any changing circumstances. They may also have wild animals tamed for battle.
