Vessels (veh-sells)
Since time immemorial, every being that has ever existed is interconnected. With the development of magic in the current age, the woes of dissemination of information and its transmission are now a thing of the past - all because of the existence of the Vessels.
Origin
It was said that Vessels were born during the creation of the first World Tree when the realm was graced with the divine gift of magic. Theories from Archaic Studies department of Excelsior speculated that because of the magnanimity and scale of which magic was transmitted throughout all living beings, the leylines were young and unfettered. While the natural order of the Great Beyond attempted to delegate the forces of power fairly to the best of its ability, undoubtedly, some would attain more than what was given to the average mortal. History
Warring Clans Period
From the most humble stone to the tallest trees, Vessels could feel the flow of magic from all things as if it was a physical entity; they perceived the very aspect of it with their senses. Because of this powerful attunement to the leylines, they were once omniscient - being able to see through all facets of time; past, present and future. This was both a blessing and a curse as the tribal clans of Alluvia's era of savagery sought to bring down rival clans' Vessels themselves. In those times, Vessels were a rare breed, and not all clans possessed one - this is why they were a prime target for other clans as a clan that possessed a Vessel heralded immense tactical advantages against others. Several clans would band together just to hunt down a clan's Vessel. Through the ages, the birth of Vessels dwindled as war ravaged the plane, and only recently in Alluvia's lifespan did they see a return to the natural order.
The Eighth Age of Mortals
During the 8th Age, the realm saw a resurgence of new Vessels - however, tempered in their ability.
