Dreaming World-Wanderers

The Dreamborn are peculiar...unique, but at the same time, completely normal. Powerful, but at the same time, completely powerless. The Dreamborn aren't defined by any known cultural aspect nor are they a united group of peoples with any sort of knowledge of each other. To the Kingdoms of Man, the Dreamborn are said to be great travelers who come from a faraway world. The arrival of a Dreamborn is about as common as getting stuck by lighting twice. It could happen, but it's just so rare that only scholars and mages even bother to learn about the Dreamborn. No Dreamborn who has ever arrived knows they are a Dreamborn. Usually, they are very confused and will only want to return home. Some succeed, and others decide to stay. Usually, a Dreamborn arrives to Terras by the conventional means of a Mirrorgate, but sometimes, very rarely, they will travel through Dream Magic which they themselves do not know they possess. These Dreamborn who travel with Dream Magic always arrive during the night, and will disappear sometime in the morning, usually returning the next few nights and then disappearing for good, never to return. These types of Dreamborn appear weak and unaware of their surroundings, as if they aren't fully awake. Could these kinds of Dreamborn be...asleep in another world? No, surely not, that's preposterous...or is it?

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

The Dreamborn usually arrive to Terras speaking their own foreign language. After a couple of days, or sometimes weeks, they learn the Commontongue and adopt it while speaking to inhabitants of Terras, although they'll usually revert back to their individual native tongue naturally. It's unknown what language(s) the Dreamborn speak since they have usually never been heard before and only a few Dreamborn appear to speak the same language. It seems like there's many different languages and cultures from another world which the Dreamborn come from.

Culture and cultural heritage

Most, if not all of the Dreamborn who have traveled to Terras appear to have originated from a somewhat similar yet somehow more advanced world. Not much else is known about this other world except for the fact that there are many cultures present and that many of the few Dreamborn who have reached Terras possess some form of advanced technology which is supposedly used to communicate with others. This technology, of course, doesn't work, no matter how much a Dreamborn claims it should.

Average technological level

It may very well be quite advanced. From the rare records of Dreamborn, it may also very well be that there is a different kind of magic in their world, as the strange, slab-like metal devices many Dreamborn would carry don't seem to work in Terras.

Major organizations

Unknown. There are probably many different cultures or lands from which the Dreamborn hail. It is unknown if all Dreamborn hail from the same world, or from many different worlds. Nothing else about the Dreamborn's lands is known, since the Dreamborn do not speak freely of their land and when they do, many of them simply speak of large cities with many homes.
