Hesfrei Alamar
Captain Hesferi Jotern Alamar (a.k.a. The Scoundrel)
Claims to be a famed pirate in every port he meets, Hesfrei had fooled many, from the occasional crew tricked into following him to the many young pretty women and handsome young lads in the towns along the coasts.
In reality, as those crews who join up, he is more of a bored man with a ship than a real pirate. He's not especially cunning or ruthless and pretty lousy in a fight and hasn't got much interest in the piracy part of his reputation.

Keeps himself well toned and trim, his most common excercise is escaping from the bedrooms of casual partners who forgot about their other halves.

Wears an eyepatch, but only because a true pirate scoundrel would, his eyes are fine.

Personal history
Born to a family of comfortably well off merchants towards the end of the Last War, Hasfrei was too young to join in the fighting and feels like he was cheated out of great adventure because of this.
After the deaths of his parents during the calamity, he took all he had and invested it in a ship, the Maiden Fair and gathered a crew to go adventuring. Sadly he found himself ill suited to the life of a plunderer, having none of the vicious streak the profession called for and much more interested in wooing the pretty young things he met in taverns.
His ability to tell a tale of his adventures and triumphs led him to be able to live well by taking only the easiest of jobs from the offers that flooded in due to his (entirely fictional) reputation.
Every now and then, a crew will tire of the easy, low paying jobs they are taking on and start thinking about taking the ship and doing without the captain, however, his way with words and so far incredible luck have managed to keep him one step ahead of any mutinies.

A decent standard befitting the only son of a merchant family expected to follow in the family trade.

Many are listed in ballads and poems but it's impossible to say which are actually true and safer to assume that none of them are.

While selfish and carefree, he does have some morality, he doesn't like to kill or injure, mostly because that increases his own risk of death but even so, he tends to a good person, deep down.
