Peakstrom

A city located in the Ground Gnome Kingdom.

Demographics

Peakstrom is predominately populated by Gnomes, due to the architecture involved; people of larger ethnicities are rare.

Defences

Peakstrom is a walled and barriered city, in addition, Gnome ballisticians and mages can be stationed atop the towers, allowing for long-range defense.
The city guard can move around the city quickly due to the many methods of travel though out the city, many guards also ride emus, owing to their small gnomian stature, this results in a defensive force that is hard to overwhelm.

Infrastructure

Peakstrom has many bridges constructed out of quintessence, these clear energy bridges connect by the rooves of its many towers. Atop the towers are small gardens and farms. On other towers there are lift stations where airships and gryphons can hired to ferry people across the local area, as well as carrying goods or workers across the city.
Many businesses are held in Peakstrom, alongside city homes and workshops. The only buildings with entrances built with large races in mind are the Inns, Taverns and Restaurants.
In order to reach the rooftops, there are several lifts operated by pulleys or wind magic.

Guilds and Factions

Farmer's Guild: The gnomes who grow produce on the outskirts of the city, alongside the rooftops.
Mage's Guild: The gnomes responsible for magic development, they specialize in conjuration and wind spells, creating barriers and bridges, alongside controlled wind to make airships and windmills more efficient.
Delivery Guild: Gnomes who fly packages and people around town, alongside mobilizing people when needed around the country.

Air Force: The gryphon riders who are both combatants and transport.

Tourism

The tall, relatively lean towers, alongside the transparent bridges make Peakstrom a popular tourist location, people stay at one of its many inns, often meeting adventurers, business people and wind mages.

Architecture

The buildings are built out of manaclay bricks, allowing them to reach impressive heights, the tallest of buildings reaching 600ft (182m) in height

Climate

The climate around Peakstrom is temperate, slightly on the cooler end, owing to the nearby mountain ranges. Peakstrom enjoys fair weather, which is usually partially cloudy; with winds that have been described as "A perpetual spring breeze"
