The Order was beseeched by a count from Aramvir, in southern Alabast. His daughter, Lady Mareld Locksley, sole heiress to the county of Locksley, was kidnapped by a Brown Dragon named Gnoldsmir who had defeated all who challenged him in a battle of wit. Initially, the order was skeptical. Dragons had not been sighted for several thousand years, after all. But when confronted with the Ring of Truth, the count's words rang true. Through their astonishment, Richelieu and Astav mustered a small number of the order's knights and set course for the dragon's desert lair in the south. Using the ring, they were able to outsmart Gnoldsmir who, having believed to have met someone of great wit, relinquished Lady Mareld. Victorious, the knights were hailed as heroes and Richelieu was offered Lady Mareld's hand in marriage.

Just 6 years after the order's formation, Count Lambert from the Aramviri County of Locksley sought out the fabled knight's aid. His daughter, Lady Mareld Locksley, sole heiress to the county of Locksley, had been kidnapped by a Brown Dragon named Gnoldsmir who had snatched up her caravan as it was returning from Estril. every champion the count has sent was defeated in a battle of wit, and subsequently devoured by the dragon. The order was skeptical, as dragons had not been sighted for several thousand years. But when confronted with the Ring of Truth, the ring was silent and remained dark. This proved the count's words true.
Through their astonishment, Richelieu and Astav mustered a small number of the order's knights, among them were the paladins Gondard, Sulla, and Theltan. Once gathered, the troope set course for the dragon's desert lair in Estril. Their journey took them several months, and they faced many desert creatures, but eventually, they were able to find Gnoldsmir's location. When they confronted the old wyrm, Gnoldsmir gave the men a riddle, and it was Richelieu who answered. Using the ring, Richelieu was able to defeat Gnoldsmir's riddles with ease. Having believed that he was beaten by someone of great wit, Gnoldsmir relinquished Lady Mareld and hefty sum of treasure. Victorious, the knights returned to Aramvir as heroes. As a show of thanks, the count had offered his daughter's hand in marriage, which Richelieu graciously accepted. The two were happily married in a cathedral in Aramvir some several weeks later.
