Ring of Truth

A Ring of Truth is a powerful paladin's artifact said to brightly glow when lies are told in its presence, among other things. It is said that these rings were crafted by paladins in ancient times in order to uphold the sanctity of their orders.
While only one of these rings have ever been discovered, Tiberoan historical records indicate that several may have existed at some point, and have either been lost of destroyed. Some ancient tablets seem to detail the creation process of such an artifact, their translation remains largely unreliable.
So the story goes, these rings are forged in the 'blood of the earth', before being bathed in the blood of a paladin (usually the one crafting the ring). Finally, the ring is submerged into the 'waters of binding', whereupon only a truly good paladin can cause the energies of a Ring of Truth to manifest.
Researchers often doubt the usefulness of such a translation, arguing that the term 'water of binding' is far too vague to bring any modern experiments to fruition. Apart from this, some scholars postulate that the ring was more of a symbol than object of power, as the creators of these near-mythical rings already commanded impressive arcane powers.
Without any firsthand accounts, however, we may never know for sure...
