The Day of Wildshaping

In the city of Eirastir, it is a tradition for people to carve animals from pieces of fallen wood on the first day of the Endless Yield. It's supposed to be a symbol of discipline and compassion for the animals of The Praery Woods. This event also pays homage to the Druids that defend the Wood, and act as emissaries, wardens, and defenders of the wilds.

Execution

Throughout the year citizens collect fallen scraps of wood not able to be used for any practical means. Then, with dawn's break, everyone meets at the town's square and sits at prepared tables in front of Queen Na'daer's keep. Using tools provided to them by local shopkeepers everyone carves an animal of the forest that they wish to pay respects to. Carving can last all-day and Eirastirians are encouraged to carve as many animals as they would like. Come nightfall the Queen herself collects all of the carvings from each person at each table and stores them in her throne room until the next day when shopkeepers can come collect them for sale.
