Session 12: Killing Bandits

General Summary

Our heroes made their way back to Black Crystal and did some shopping before heading out to their next mission. They decided to stay in the Dancing Pirate and questioned the bartender, George, about the job board, the mages guild, and the magic swamp. George told them about some bandits up toward Barremay    Our heroes headed over to the Wizards of the Forge to collect some more information about the swamp and necromancers in general. They were greeted by a busy receptionist. The receptionist first sent them to professor Sputwort, a professor who specialized in the study of transmuted landscapes. Solto convinced the professor to send them on a mission to collect a vile of swamp water, they agreed that for payment the professor owes them a favor. The receptionist then sent them to Karla for their necromancy questions. They arrived at her office door and were greeted by a illusion of a head that asked them to record a message. Daeran interrupted the illusion, but the door was locked. Out heroes decide they do not want to make enemies and so they left.   Our heroes tracked down the bandits that George sent them after. After moving into position, Kaylin tried to shoot one, she missed. The bandits were surprised but prepared to attack. Rorick hit three with his magic missile. Solto used his ring of natures friends to summon a giant lizard. One of the bandits ran towards our heroes, Daeran shoots him down. Kaylin shoots and kills one of the bandits and gravely injuring another. Rorick tires to hit one of the bandits but misses and lights a wagon on fire. The bandit captain killed the giant lizard in one hit. Daeran tries to hit him with a crossbow and misses. Kaylin pulls out her arrows of razor wind and kills another bandit. Zanril casts Toll the Dead on the bandit captain. Rorick casts another fire bolt and catches another wagon on fire. Our heroes continue to attack the remaining bandit captain. Eventually Zanril's spiritual weapon strikes true and Zanril finishes him off.   As our heroes are looting the bandit camp, a group of zombies appear and attempted to collect the bodies. Our heroes were concerned by this behavior and so they killed the zombies and burned the bodies.    With their proof of the distructrun of the bandits and the loot, our heroes head off to the magic swamp.
