Gulli

Gulli is a fermented drink component that is typically served with either berry or fruit juice. When it is served in the morning the fermented Gulli is served warm with a tart berry juice. When enjoyed in the afternoon or evening it is typically served cold or room temperature with a sweet juice. Although the basic recipe remains the same, each region ferments the Gulli a little different and uses different fruit juices. Traveling merchants often collect jars of fermented Gulli to sell on their travels.

Manufacturing process

Gulli leaves can be harvested from Gulli trees in the Whispering Wood and the Forest of the Long Lived. The fresher the leaves, the stronger the fermentation will be. Fermented Gulli is typically made in-house, each establishment has its own recipe that they guard closely. Many of the higher-quality taverns have a special employee who is in charge of harvesting and fermenting the Gulli. Occasionally the Gulli leaves will be dried and sold in little pouches that can be seeped in hot water. This is a traveling substitute that adventurers will often carry with them.

Significance

This is an important drink in Shaedor. Many taverns serve it as a 'wake up' drink in the morning. Each community makes it a little bit different and in some places it has a cult-like following. Some people even collect jars of fermented Gulli from different regions/ towns.
