Rhaim'gaiz briefly returns, but is ultimately defeated again, and sealed away in The Shadowspire.

During the Year of Darkness, Rhaim'gaiz returns, bringing forth a giant spire of shadowstone from which his followers and undead attack the world. He is ultimately defeated by an alliance between the nations of Dormand, Jegoria, Levmonza, Tivelania, The Dwarves of the Stoneforge Mountains, the Elves of Winekeep, and The Faithful of The White Lady. They are unable to destroy him for good however, and instead seal him away in the tower, binding him with seven powerful seals. Each group takes a seal and is intrusted to hide it away and protect it. He resolves himself to breaking the seal.
