Sacred Grove of Savenito

Somewhere outside the city of Croci, in the great forest of Savenito, lays an ancient grove of great magical power. It is known to be sacred to most druids as well as the devoted followers of Mother Nature. The rumors say that it's waters can cure any ailment or illness. Plants grow there year round, regardless of season or climate.

Geography

The Sacred Grove was formed in 400 BYD when the god Jegor and Mother Nature laid in a clearing in the forest and made love, creating many of the gods humans worship even into the present day. It is said the divine power of this coupling seeped into the very earth itself, blessing the land with good weather. Whether this is true or not depends on who is to be believed, but it is known that Croci has never since then fallen under any natural disaster. Deadly storms make their path around the city, sparing it from harm. Earthquakes never seem to damage it. The land is beautiful and fertile, putting it in contrast to the rest of Levmonza.
Sometime after it's creation, the Guardians of the Grove were established. As far as anyone can tell, these are the defenders of the Grove, and they represent the Grove's business in the outside world. People have attempted to follow them back to the Grove from the city, but they always get lost in the forest, and wind up back where they came in. The guardians allow the faithful to make holy pilgrimages to the site, there exists a small open air temple to Mother Nature outside the city that is run by a single member of the faith, they determines who may make the trip and who may not. The person seems to change at random intervals, many different races of people have been in charge there at one point or another. Whatever criteria must be met to visit are kept secret, it is not uncommon for a group to travel there together, only to find half of their number turned away. Even after approval of the temple's guardian, entry is still not guaranteed, as it is said that the forest itself has a say, and some who travel into the forest seeking the grove, still walk out without ever seeing it. Those who have seen it speak of it's magnificence, but offer no proof to verify the great claims and legends. Some that have been granted access before will try to go back, but find that the entrance has moved, or that they can no longer gain access.
The Guardians of the Grove are a powerful force in Croci's politics, but prefer to stay neutral on almost all matters not relating to them or natural order in general. They command respect, and when they desire meetings, meetings are held, regardless of time of day or year. They trade in produce, making good coin by trading in out of season fruits and vegetables in the markets. They don't tend to buy much, though they have been known to import metal, as well as manufactured items.
