SlumsWealth

Description:

Pre-Destruction: A magnificent city with two very different halves. On the northeast side, raised up on a high cliff, is the High-Income District. Meant for only the wealthiest and most influential people. It's architecture is that of a modern city, with high skyscrapers made of steel and glass, with paved roads, traffic lights, and proper enforcement. The only ways to access this higher district are via a patrolled road (and either citizenship of the High-Income-District or a hefty toll is required to enter), or a secret, yet very precarious and crumbling stairwell on the cliffs called the 'Vagabonds venture'. On the southwest side, is the Low-Income District. The buildings build up from small shacks on the outskirts to two-story-tall buildings near the central market, used by almost everyone in the city. The worst buildings are built of rotting timbers and rusty nails, or crumbling bricks and rough-hewn stones for better quality buildings. The roads are uneven dirt, except for the central market. Almost all of the buildings here hold no glass in their windows, but rather, metal shutters. On one side of the city borders, is terrain rising in steep cliffs up the side of the Montiwell Mountains, often heavily covered in snow except during the summer, where stunning waterfalls cascade from the cliffs in brilliant showers. On the other side are forests and plains, always the brightest of colors from all the water they receive. North of the city is the large Luna Lake. People from this portion of the city are often employed as servants for those of the High-Income-District, but for unfairly low pay and are treated horribly.   Post-Destruction: After its destruction due to the civil it experience, it becomes a black spot in a terrain of white in the winter. Any snow that settles on the accursed ground almost instantly melts. Its once astonishing beauty is now replaced with a somber aura as itself testifies to the horrors it witnessed. The majority of buildings are mere piles of rubble, charred black from fires. The destruction lacks many corpses where they should be, but huge amounts of bones, skulls, and the like can be found in 'graveyard' like areas that the Core Spirits have designated. The tallest skyscrapers in the city have toppled over into the Low-Income District and now serve as large ruins with a good amount of cover from the elements despite their ruined state. foliage is very unable to grow within the area, and the Luna lake is now a concentration of bile and the lower falls look like fountains of ash.

History:

Constructed sometime after the Earth-Reforming-Calamity. During this time, the city was equal and named Milia Imbrem, for its thousands of waterfalls from higher cliffs. It became a renowned place of paradise. After the discovery of Tenebris in 4200, the city was converted into a military base in preparation for a siege on Tenebris. This resulted in the lower portion of the city being used to house soldiers and weapons of war, while the higher portion houses all the citizens and officials benefiting from the war effort, starting the separation of the city. Later on, in 4295 when many protests and riots against non-human species and those with Calibers have arisen, the cities officials take unfair actions and force all non-human citizens and any with Calibers into the lower portion of the city, while moving any 'normal humans' up to the higher portion, soon assigning the infamous names of the districts. Soon after started the 'Constricting Years' known in the city as government officials made every move possible to destabilize and rob those in the Low-Income District of all resources to attempt to starve them all. During the Mesica Civil war, over 90% of Low-Income District citizens revolted and stormed the High-Income district, completely overthrowing it while non-human inhabitants fled for their lives. Soon after the war had ended, the city returned back to an age of peace, but with the city still divided between those who had suffered during the war, and those that had seized power. The city is mostly ignored during the Desolating Trials, except for funding for weapons of war and other resources. When Colton Diaíresi Toa moved there, and not too many years later, fled the city, it became destroyed from another civil war within its boundries. This war proved to be much more destructive, and all of the inhabitants were killed, with the land being cursed due to the many abominations committed by the High-Income District.

Sub-Areas:

Central-Market: This area is located in the city's large plaza in the Low-Income District. Most buildings create an almost complete wall around the plaza, with the market stalls, ground cobblestones, and pathways all leading in a circular pattern towards the center, where a crumbling fountain can be found. Despite its broken state, it still runs, flooding part of the plaza with large amounts of water. The stall owners have used this to their advantage as a source of water to help clean various things.   Vagabond Venture: A very thin, precarious, and hidden flight of stairs built into the cliffs, leading up to the High-Income District. It's infamous for the fact that the majority of those who traverse it end up falling to their death. The steps are falling apart and can barely support most humans before crumbling to pieces. It's used only in the most extreme and important cases.   Celestial Lumanine FOB/ Wallich Tower Located in a penthouse at the top of Wallich Tower. Fancily furnished with a fully decked-out kitchen, 7 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, living room, private patio, gym, business meeting room, and a helipad. The color theme is whites, yellows, and blacks, and a modern design with marble, metal, and bullet-proof glass. The only way to access it is via either an elevator or a stairwell that requires multiple keys and passcodes and is protected by guards 24/7.   Angel's Landing: Although not within the borders of the city, it's considered a part of the city. A series of buildings that once belonged to an ancient modern city, just out of the cliff-side, half buried, rusty, and slowly crumbling down to a forest beneath it (of which has a quarry adjacent to it). Waterfalls crash through the various structures from higher up, having originated from snow on the higher cliffs that has melted. The falls only run from late spring, to early autumn, otherwise being frozen at the stop. The falls themselves are the main sight and attraction of Angel's Landing and Slumswealth, as the thousands of falls can be seen from the city cascading beautiful.   Hideout:
Colton Diaíresi Toa and Liam Lewis have a hideout in the ruins of Angel's Landing, situated in a comfy, secure, and well hidden part of a skyscraper. The entrance is through a shatter window, and the back-door to the waterfalls are through the roof-access door. The whole building is sideways, with the top pointing south along the Montiwell Mountains. In one particular room, they have a couch and makeshift kitchen, of which is surprisingly luxurious, despite the decrepit and run-down nature of everything they own.
The showers (of which are made using some of the smaller falls of Angel's Landing) are on another building, being slightly higher up on a building that's standing upright, but 90% buried. The way to access it is via a flight of steps from a lower building, then a rusty metal ladder on the side of the former.

Inhabitants:

Mainly humans of all races live here, every so often, one might see a creature of another species passing through. But as in most cities, racism against other species of sentients is quite high. Especially so for this city due to its history and the divide it has received. Citizens of the High-Income District are very distasteful to those in the Low-Income District, viewing them as savages of the earth. They treat them no better than slaves. Those of the High-Income District are also much more prideful, greedy, snobbish, selfish, and so on. While citizens in the Low-Income District are much more charitable, accepting, hard-working, etc, due to their lives being naturally hard and having to possess such characteristics to survive.
The city has a commonly established slang throughout both parts often used by people (ignore the common slang and dialect throughout the whole world).
Gjinx's are members of the Low-Income District, and Bryttches are members of the High-Income District, both being derogatory names.

Seasonal Info:

Spring: During spring, the snowstorms have stopped but the snow hasn't quite melted yet, leaving the whole city in a stasis. Trees regrow leaves and hardy flowers bloom during this period, creating an odd mix of winter and spring, which is a strangely mesmerizing image.   Summer: By this point, the snow has begun melting and the falls have returned, creating dazzling beauty over the whole of the cliffs. Foliage thrives in full, making the land and cliffs around the city green-hued, accented with many colors due to the many flowers growing.   Autumn: All of the green foliage has turned to gold and the leaves of trees turned to their many various colors, making the surrounding terrain appear like a painted canvas. At times, the falls may still be running if enough snow fell during the last winter, further enhancing the beauty of the city, which is especially true during holidays and festivals.   Winter: The city experiences extremely harsh blizzards which blanket the entirety of the city and surrounding terrain with snow, placing it into stasis as roads need to be cleared. Majority of citizens stay within their homes. Unfortunately, death rate for those in the Low-Income District rises significantly, making winter a very somber time for the poor.

Festivals & Holidays:

The SlumsWealth city has different festivals, holidays, and traditions depending on which district you live in. Those in the High-Income District celebrate nearly every holiday to exist, making fireworks, decorations, and impulsive buying common in the High-Income District.
In the Low-Income District, due to their financial crisis, they only celebrate the big holidays, and they prefer to hold celebrations in their own homes with families and not flashy impressive ones like their counterparts.
One big holiday exclusive to Slumswealth, is the holiday known as 'Dividend' (The words 'divide end' being combined into one). This holiday is celebrated, every year on August 17, and became a tradition after the civil war within its boundaries during the Mesica Civil War. It's a holiday celebrated after the High-Income District was stormed and there was put an end to their corruptedness (even though they have become corrupted again).

The Guardians:

The city (mainly the High-Income District) has a team of somewhat elite policemen called 'peacekeepers' by those in the Low-Income District, and 'Guardians' in the High-Income District. They are revealed and famous in the High-Income District, and act as the best of the best. While in the Low-Income District they are despised, as they will often beat and arrest citizens for entertainment. Most crimes they ignore if they either profit from it, or do get any benefit from taking action. They are a totally corrupt police force.
