Montiwell Mountains

Description:

The world's largest mountain range ever in history, with the mountains raising up above the Troposphere (52800 feet above sea level), being easily visible from almost anywhere in the country, and being intimidating to all due to its massive size, with individuals often having to crane their necks just to peek at the top. The mountain range runs from the northwest corner of Central Mesica down to stopping in front of the entryway to the Adustus Desert, creating a pass between the Sand Walls and the Montiwell Mountains, known as Meli's watch,. Large rolling hills surround the mountains for about a mile, with most of the mountain rising up at near 90 degree angles immediately after, with gray rock thats hard to damage, hard to crumble, and never has rockslides. Halfway the snow starts, starting at a couple inches, then gradually increasing to about fifteen feet depths, making the entire mountain range even more perilous. two-thirds of the way up, the mountain begins to level off in more areas, providing areas where walking (ignoring the lack of oxygen and other dangers) is possible. Many hundreds of peaks still rise up far above this, with their own perils and dangers. The view from the top is almost more breath taking than the thin atmosphere, giving access to the eyes of all of Central Mesica. Despite being way into the Troposphere, weather still persists here, wether by natural forces, or outside influences is still unclear, but the weather only exists solely around these mountains, with it slowly fading out of existence the further out you go.

Sub Areas:

The mountain has a few notable areas, some more important than others, and all with their own unique features.   Nick's Cross:
One of three passes through the mountains, with this one being low enough altitude and with ample amounts of moderate terrain, with adventurous travelers constantly attempting to cross it. A few lucky individuals do end up crossing, but most are unsuccessful in the endeavor, becoming frozen statues to decorate the landscape. It's frozen most of the year, except during the summer where it will rain in torrential downpours, often causing flash-flooding as well as making every surface lethally slippery. The pass runs through the northern portion of the mountains, with one end being right beside where Aquila Mons resides at the foot of the mountain.
Because the amount of corpses have slowly risen, and a specific point at which most of them have perished, there is a smaller area known as Nick's Rot, in which the ground will be carpeted with rotting flesh, and victims, still standing on their feet, frozen in place as if statues of bronze, mid-adventure as they are still attempting to cross. In the summer when the rain hits, the water that hits them, freezes over, becoming completely transparent ice, and making the corpses much more eerier, while also still keeping the bodies preserved.   Meli's watch:
Considered the most dangerous of the three passes, with heavily jagged terrain hovering far below Meli's Peak, with constant blizzards, avalanches, and winds that will shove any aircraft into the cliffs. Only those wishing death attempt to cross it, or those foolish enough to believe they have the skill to do so. The snow can reach up to twenty feet deep, with much of it being thin at the top and hiding a long fall into a frozen grave. Not to mention, some of the cliffs here have drop-offs that essentially go down to sea-level, causing victims to fall for hours before they turn to pulp (especially since the thin air makes them fall faster than normal). The temperatures reach so low, that even fire freezes over, and anything living will instantly freeze on the outside, as well as water exploding into spikes from the instant freezing process. Death Incarnate is very fond of this place, and should one survive long enough, will eventually see him walk towards them, a grim smile on his expression.   Winter Volley:
Located just below the Montiwell mountains, and giving passage from the west-side of Central Mesica to the east side, as well as to the Adustus Desert. The lowest altitude of passes, and depending on the location, it  can be chilly all year, but snow only at the end of autumn, beginning of spring, and constant snowfall in the winter. Though a struggle to get through the more northward you are, many prefer to take southern routes that hug the Sand Walls and are much warmer. Avalanches will only occasionally ravage the area, with camps sometimes attempting to start a city in the pass to capitalize on passing travelers.   Meli's Peak:
The highest peak of the mountains, with it far above any other peak, and also the most desolate, dangerous, and beautiful place. There's only a space of roughly thirty square feet at the top, with it dropping off steeply on almost all sides. A thin path leads down, winding down the mountain with only a couple inches width to walk on. Only two individuals have known to climb to the top with the remains of their flag at the top. Though they were spotted by aircraft at the top, they did not survive the trip down, and at least one of them was forgotten to time, the other being named Meli Sherpa. They did however leave all the necessities to climb up (IE chains, hooks, markers, etc), as well as their signature at any landmarks they designated.

City:

Though some cities (like Aquila Mons and SlumsWealth) sit at the base of the mountain, barely touched by its cold aura, the only city truly within the mountains limits, is Centum Turris, hidden in a valley up in the mountains heights, tucked away in protective bubble amidst the constant blizzards and dangers, untouched by outside forces. As such, some individuals might catch sight of this city from afar, and describe it as the sun dawning over the mountain to watch over them and protect them on their journey.
